Haphazard-ness

I think this post is likely to be all over the place.

I'm a little behind with all social media...Emails, facebook, blogging...I haven't done any of it since last week. My google reader is full to the brim and I'm sooo looking forward to enjoying it all this weekend.

I'm behind because I started work on Monday.

And because the dogs are used to going out 8,000,001 times during the day, we hired someone to come and take them out at lunch. She started on Monday. Having her around has been great! She takes the dogs for walks around the neighborhood, plays with them, and gives them a snack for lunch.

Her name is Samantha and we couldn't be happier that we have her. She had us fill out extensive paperwork about each dog just in case of emergency or illness before she came.

And even so, when Murphy was acting sick on Tuesday morning before I left for work - hiding behind the bbq, panting, pacing, eating grass - I insisted on sending directions to our preferred emergency clinic. The directions were with a panicked message letting her know that Jay could meet her in the event that Murphy was sick.

My worry was put to bed as soon as Samantha arrived at the house.

She sent this quick text:
"Hi Michelle. Everything seems fine here. Murphy seems happy!"

And then shortly after she sent this:
Subject: Happy Kids
Message: Out on a walk! All is well. :-)

I was relieved that it was just an overreaction on my part. It was likely just an adjustment while all of us were getting used to the new schedule.

I love my new job. Love, love, love, love it. The company I work for has won one of the best companies to work for in Atlanta for the last few years.

*I'm not posting the name in case they have google alerts that will tell them if they're mentioned*

They really take care of their people. The Accounting team is truly great. They are happy, friendly, and really like being together. My manager insists that we don't stay late, the company pays for personal trainers in the in-house gym, serves a nutritious menu and has a game room & walking trails for de-stressing.

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep because I was so looking forward to going into work the next day. Isn't that a great change?!

Even though I love it, I normally can't bear to get online when I get home. Email is backing up and the reader will have to wait. Jay has always managed to check his when he gets home....maybe I will get to that point soon.

I almost forgot until I uploaded my few photos from this week that I went to a coupon class last Friday night. I knew this post would be haphazard!

A local woman figured out how to save hundreds off her grocery bills. She holds classes at ladies' houses to explain her tricks. I wasn't sure what I signed up for but it turned out that I was completely amazed with her secret. She spends on average $50 per week for loads of food. She showed scans of receipts where she saved $150 and spent $30. I figured with that kind of savings, I just have to give it a try.

The couponing process involves these inserts from the Sunday paper:

and two sites:
Maybe we won't save like she does, but anything can't hurt! :)

I soon realized that no journey carries one far unless, as it extends into the world around us, it goes an equal distance into the world within.
