This makes me happy

This morning, I got up to grab a cup of coffee and glanced outside. To my surprise, there is a winter wonderland out there! I'm still wondering, "What in the world is going on?" We never get snow in Georgia, let alone two or three times a year.

It has snowed at least an inch since I took these pictures this morning.

The snow is beautiful. Huge, white, fluffy flakes that I can't seem to get a decent picture of.

Snow makes me happy.

Cabin Fever

I'm hoping to go to this antique show today if the weather warms up. Local decorators blog about their great finds from this show a lot.

The only problem is that the market is near the Atlanta airport, quite a haul from Woodstock on icy roads. If we can't go today, tomorrow might actually be better. Most vendors will probably be giving away their goods so they don't have to take it home! :)

This is what our yard looks like this morning. Walking around in the snow reminded me how much I miss the crunch of fresh powder. It reminds me of play time as a child, when my mom bundled me up and sent me outside. I could spend hours playing in the snow; making igloos, slides (if you spray it with water and wait about 30 minutes, you can slide down reeeeally fast), snowmen and the best of all, snow angels.

School's Out

This is our street about an hour ago...around 11:00 a.m.

And here is a list of all of the schools that are closing in the area due to snow. They are closing school not because of snow on the ground, but because it is going to snow.

Delta has already canceled 198 flights out of Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport that were scheduled to leave this evening...HERE'S the article.

Crazy, huh?

After all the hype, I'm really looking forward to seeing some snow. It has been a while.
