Day with the Fam

Yesterday was a good day. I went to my parents house to visit with my side of the family. My four year old nephew came to visit.

When I got there in the morning, we tried to take a picture. He just wasn't in the mood.

From Parent's House
So we went back inside and had breakfast, then played pool.

Then grandma read books.

We went outside next. We rode bikes, played in the yard and ran around by the river. He started with the little bike until we said he was to old for it and needed his big boy bike.

This is my aunt with my babies.

Then, off to the river (the backyard)!

I'm not sure what this game was.

My dad said that he threw a stick and she came back with a tree.

Haley and he had a tug of war over the tree. He won.

He took a moment in the leaves.

He's such a boy!

Then grandpa chilled with him for a minute during the Olympics Curling event. Grandpa is trying to get him into sports. Austin said that he's going to do that when he grows up.

Then great Auntie snuggled with him while he watched Tom and Jerry.

He was really into this Tom & Jerry episode. Everything out of his mouth was the question "why?" Nothing in between, just "why?"

Then, back outside. First we played on the slide.

We went back to the river again. Boys!

He threw sticks into the river and laughed every time the dogs got in trouble for getting close to the water.

He told grandpa to stay right there, then come and find him after grandpa counts to ten.

We had dinner, then he went home to my sister's house. I'm EXHAUSTED too.

I soon realized that no journey carries one far unless, as it extends into the world around us, it goes an equal distance into the world within.
